Shaft: Original, straight shaft, with vintage 14" leather grip.
Length: 42”
Condition: Lightly restored, and very good condition for its age. No visible splits or cracks. Some wear to the sole commensurate with use.
Other details: In 1925 Crews Hill Golf Club appointed Mr Charles Whitcombe (one of three well known golfing brothers) as head Professional. Charles still holds the course record 59 to this date.
Charles would go on to represent England in three Ryder Cups and to be Captain of the PGA in 1936. His close relationship with Abe Mitchell at nearby Verulam Golf Club enabled Crews Hill Golf Club to appoint Abe's son Len Mitchell on Charles retirement in 1950.
