Clubs: Half Set of Irons, A Mid-iron, Mashie and Niblick made for Cyril Fryer, professional at Carlisle City Golf Club (1917-1926).
Makers: Tom Stewart, St. Andrews & St. Andrew Golf Co., Glasgow & Dunfermline
Year: c.1920
Shaft: Original hickory shafts, firmly fitted to heads. No splits or cracks visible. Vintage suede leather grips with whipping replaced where necessary.
Lengths: Mid-iron 37.75" Mashie 37.5" Niblick 37.25"
Lofts: Mid-iron 27 degrees Mashie 37 degrees Niblick 50 degrees
Swing Weights: Mid-iron C4 Mashie D0 Niblick E7
Condition: All good condition for age. Some small dents and pitting marks commensurate with age.
Other details: All Punch-faced irons. The Mid-iron and the Mashie are both made by Tom Stewart, St. Andrews. Interestingly, the Tom Stewart stamp for CYRIL FRYER has been mis-spelt, incorrectly stamped "CRYIL FRYER". Hopefully, Mr. Fryer had a discount on the price of these iron heads!
The Niblick is stamped with the "STAG" cleekmark of St. Andrew Golf C0. of Glasgow and Dunfermline
