Club: Concentric back, smooth face, Light Iron.
Maker: William Gibson & Company, Kinghorn, Fife, Scotland.
Year: c.1900-1910
Shaft: Straight hickory shaft, firmly fitted to hosel. No splits or cracks visible. Thick vintage 12" leather grip.
Length: 38.25"
Loft: 25 degrees Swing weight: D1
Condition: Good condition for age, with light pitting. Clear makers' 'Star' cleek mark and oval name stamp.
Other details: James Braid 'Autograph' model Light Iron with concentric shaped back, deploying more weight behind the sweetspot. Braid was a five times Open Championship winner (and Professional at Walton Heath Golf Club 1904-50), whose endorsment and name stamped on any club of the day guaranteed a marketing success.
