Club: Robert D. Randall Patent "True Sight" Putter with oval hosel and square grip.

Year: c.1920

Shaft: Oval shaped hosel and lower shaft section, with a square shaped shaft at the grip end. Shaft firmly fitted to hosel, and with a slight bow deliberately added for an improved pendulum feel when putting.  No splits or cracks visible. Vintage 13" suede grip.

Length: 33.75"

Condition: "Rustless Iron" head in very good condition for age, with circular punched face.

Other details: A "True Sight" patent putter designed and registered by Robert D. Randall in 1909. Randall was the professional at the Herne Bay Golf Club from 1908 right through to 1961, the year he died. The hosel and lower section of hickory shaft are oval in shape, in-line with the putting face. The narrower width of hosel and shaft as the player looks down at the head  means there is a clearer "True Sight" of the putter face. 

Stamped on the reverse with the "Sun" cleek mark, indicating it was manufactured by the Jack White Company, London.

"Registered No. 539228" stamped on the sole.
