The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers

Shadow Box with Framed Print and original Muirfield Saucer 1891.

A shadow box display relating to one of the oldest golf clubs in the world, with records dating back to 1744.

The print is a reproduction of a painting by Sir John Watson Gordon, and depicts John Taylor, Captain of The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers many times between 1807 and 1825.

The fine bone china saucer is an original piece of crockery from the Muirfield clubhouse (1891) with the club's initials 'HCEG' running around the inside of the saucer.

Shadow Box Condition: Good for age (c.1990s) . Mount slightly raised from print on right side of image. A few marks on inside of glass which could be cleaned if shadow box taken apart.

Saucer Condition: Very good, with no chips or cracks visible. 

Modern brown/gold wood frame and dark green coloured mount.

Frame size: 63 cm x 38 cm  (approx. 25" x 15")

Image size: 26 cm x 17 cm  (approx. 10" x 7")

Saucer size: 14.5 cm diameter (5  3/4")
