Year: c.1915

Shaft: Original shaft stamped 'James B. Batley',Bushey Hall Golf Club, London (1902-1917). Original grip. Swing weight D-4 to D-5.

Length: 36.5"

Condition: Very good. Clear makers' stamp.

Other details: Hand-punched concave-faced Niblick made by J. Anderson for James Batley, Bushey Hall Golf Club, London.

Unusual Niblick as it has a concave face designed to extract the ball from difficult lies. The 'dished' face was outlawed in 1931 as it was found that the ball could, in effect, make double contact with the club face in a single stroke.
