Club: A 'Bulldog' style Persimmon Spoon. 'Grand Slam' model Reg. no. 345247
Maker: Jack Randall, first professional at Sundridge Park Golf Club, Bromley, Kent.
Year: c.1920
Shaft: Original, straight shaft, with new replacement suede grip.
Length: 40 1/4"
Loft: 22 degrees
Swing Weight:
Condition: Lightly restored, and very good for age. No visible signs of cracks or splits, with usual signs of wear to sole plate and head commensurate with age and use.
'Bulldog' style socket-headed spoon, with new neck and grip whipping.
Full brass sole plate in good condition.
A very nice playable spoon or display club.
Other details:
Jack Randall started work at the Sundridge Park Golf Club on 7th December 1901 as the club's first professional, with his brother Bob taking the roles of Caddy master and Greenkeeper.
Willie Park Jr. from Musselburgh set out the course, with the construction under the supervision of James Braid and Jack Randall. Jack was to give the golf club 37 years loyal service, retiring only shortly before he died in 1937.
