Club: Unusual 'stripe-top' socket-head Persimmon Brassie.
Maker: T.Chapman, Cowglen Golf Club, Glasgow (1914-1932)
Year: c.1920s
Shaft: Original, straight shaft, with new suede grip.
Length: Brassie 42 1/2"
Loft: 15 degrees
Swing Weight: B8
Condition: Lightly restored, but very good for age. No visible signs of cracks or splits.
Unusual larger size socket-headed wood - 3" width across the crown. The rear of the wide head (where the lead weight is added) is very under-cut to the brass sole plate, giving a 'flying-saucer' like aerodynamic shape.

Established in 1906, Cowglen Golf Club is situated 5 minutes from the centre of Glasgow. Chapman was one of the club's first professionals being appointed to the post in 1914.
The course at Cowglen was redesigned by James Braid, with views of the city and the Scottish highlands.
