Condition: Good for age. The club has the Tom Morris 'autograph' makers stamp on the crown, as well as the retailers stamp for Finnigans, Manchester. Established in 1830, Finnigans had department stores in Manchester and London, selling a wide variety of goods that included sports equipment.

Other details: Tom Morris was not only a great golfer, winning the Open Championship in 1861, 1862, 1864 and 1867, but also a skilful club and ball maker. He was apprentice to Alan Robertson, the famous St. Andrews feather ball maker. In 1865 Tom Morris set up a workshop overlooking the famous St. Andrews Golf Course, where he was ‘Keeper of the Green’.
Even after Tom’s death in 1908, at the age of 87, the firm he established continued to produce clubs bearing his name. This wood club was one of the Tom Morris company’s popular ‘Autograph’ series introduced after his death.
